You can make the picnic more special by cooking all of the food on your own rather than purchasing it from a restaurant. There are ways for you to keep the food fresh while you are traveling to your partner's cities with it. Take a look at this article for tips in regards to planning a picnic in your partner's city.
1. Invest in Insulated Bags
Insulated bags are a great way to keep food hot while traveling over a long distance. The bags are available in numerous types and sizes, so you should be able to find bags that can meet your needs. The duration of time that the bags will be able to keep the food hot depends on the distance that you will be traveling to your partner's city. Keep in mind that some insulated bags will have a note on the label that will let you know how long you can expect the food to stay hot. What you place inside of the bags will also play a role in how long everything stays hot.
2. Buy Dry Ice for Cold Food Items
If you will be traveling with any cold food items, you can purchase dry ice to place inside of a chest. Dry ice is able to get a lot colder than the typical ice that is used inside of chests. Depending on how far you intend to travel, you might even be able to keep ice cream frozen if you place dry ice in the chest. Just make sure that you keep the ice chest slightly open so gas can escape as a process called sublimation takes place. Basically, sublimation is a process in which dry ice transforms from a solid to gas.
3. Don't Forget a Picnic Basket
Although you will be transporting your hot and cold food items in a way in certain containers, it doesn't mean that you can't enjoy a picnic basket. Purchase a picnic basket to set the mood of the occasion. Simply place the food from the other containers inside of the basket when you are ready to surprise your partner with a picnic.
