Give Your Dinner Group A New Experience

Are you part of a dinner group? Perhaps it's one where you each get to take a turn deciding what or where you're going to eat. Is your turn to select a dining experience coming up soon? If so, from planning a Hawaiian Haystack dinner right at your own dining room table to selecting a Mediterranean restaurant, here are some ideas that might help the dining experience with your friends be one that they will remember for a long time.

Eating In Your Home - If your dinner group sometimes eats at somebody's home, perhaps this is one time when you could choose your own home for a dinner party. There are so many fun choices of what your menu can be that you might have trouble selecting what to serve. Think about doing something that will more than likely be a new eating experience for your friends. For instance, consider serving Hawaiian Haystacks. Not only are they really delicious, but they're easy to prepare and just as easy to serve, as your guests build their own haystack, buffet style. Just make a gravy out of cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, and chunks of chicken. Serve the gravy over white rice, which can even be served at room temperature, and have different condiments to top it all off. Here are some you can offer: pineapple tidbits, grated cheese, sliced green onions, chopped bell peppers, raisins, and slivered almonds. 

Eating In A Restaurant - It might be that your group has always played it safe, going to places like steak houses, Mexican restaurants, and Italian restaurants. If you have carte blanche in selecting the restaurant, consider choosing one where Mediterranean food is served, such as Maura's Mediterranean Cuisine. For some of your guests, it may be the very first time they eat true Mediterranean food. They'll be able to choose main dishes that offer chicken, beef, or lamb. Sides may include grilled vegetables,  hummus, falafel, assorted fruits, and olives, which may be totally different from the ones you've eaten before. One idea is to select Mediterranean shish kebabs that are made with both meat and vegetables and served with rice. If you're not sure which dishes to select, your waiter will more than likely be able to help you select foods that have been popular with other customers. Once you've had Mediterranean style foods, you and your friends may find yourselves returning to eat Mediterranean cuisine many times.
